Vision, Mission, Objectives

The Middle East project, programme and portoflio community of practice is a membership organisation run by members for members.

Vision

To establish an active community of practice (COP) providing value to the individual, to employers and to the region as a whole by helping attract people to the project, programme and portfolio management (P3M) profession and helping them develop.

Mission

To promote the use of best practices in portfolio, programme and project management (P3M) in the Middle East, through:
  • Helping users adopt, use, share and shape the application of best practice P3M methods and techniques.
  • Attracting people to the profession and help them develop.
  • Acting as a conduit to international P3M bodies (e.g. OGC, IPMA, PMI)

Objectives

The initial set of objectives has been defined as:
  • Holding at least 3 conferences per year (rotating around major cities)
  • Membership to increase year in year
  • The percentage of Middle East nationals as members and champions to increase year in year
  • Self sustaining within three years (June 2007 being the baseline)

The community of practice will not be a body to define standards or to develop learning paths. The community of practice is non-industry specific and encourages all sectors to join and share experiences with other sectors.
